New Year Creativity: Exploring New Art Techniques for Pet Portraits and Original Art

I’m easing into the new year without big declarations or rigid plans, just a lot of curiosity and a desire for creative exploration. Here's a recap of 2025's favorite pieces and a message for 2026.

I’ll still be creating pet portraits, which I truly love. There’s something special about capturing an animal’s personality and spirit, and I’m excited to keep exploring new ways to approach them, looser, more expressive, and a little more playful.
Alongside that, I plan to spend more time creating new original pieces. This year feels like a chance to experiment with techniques, textures, and ideas I’ve been wanting to try for a while.
Below are a few of my favorite pieces from 2025, art that reflects where my work has been and hint at where it’s heading. I’m excited to keep building from here!

And here are some of the custom pet portraits from 2025. I was honored to paint a lot of Mya's Rainbow Friends portraits...so let's give a special salute to those pets that crossed the Rainbow Bridge this past year.

And my favorite creation of 2025...our sweet little baby boy! He has helped me in many ways including being more efficient with my time!

Thanks for being here and following along as I experiment, learn, and create. More to come!
Yours,
Amy
