Fenton Art Festival Recap: So Many Paintings Found New Homes!

The Fenton Art Festival was such a great day!

I went into the festival with my tent packed full of original paintings, prints, ornaments, cards, bookmarks, Spirit Animal Painting Kits and all the little things I’d been working on for weeks.

By the end of the day, my booth looked very different, in the best possible way.

I sold so many original paintings, including several of my abstracts and animal pieces. One person went home with four paintings, and another chose three! It was pretty amazing watching people put different pieces together and decide which ones they wanted to bring home.

One of my favorite parts of an art festival is getting to see which paintings people connect with in person. Sometimes it’s a piece I expect to get attention, and other times someone immediately gravitates toward a painting I never would have guessed would be their one.

And it wasn’t just the paintings. My handmade ornaments were a huge hit, I brought around 30 and sold almost all of them! I also had prints, bookmarks, stationery, rock totems and my Spirit Animal Painting Kits at the booth.

After spending so much time painting, making products, figuring out displays, pricing everything, packing and preparing, seeing people actually enjoying it all made the work leading up to the festival feel worth it.

A Really Good Day for My Art

Something that felt especially meaningful was seeing people leave with multiple pieces of my artwork. There’s something pretty cool about realizing that someone doesn’t just like one painting, they want to create a little collection of your work in their home.

I also loved getting to talk with people who had seen my work around Cary and at places like Juliet Books. Having my paintings out in the community has started creating these little connections where someone recognizes a piece, remembers seeing my work somewhere else, or comes by specifically because they’ve been following along.

And, of course, I came home with plenty of ideas for what I want to paint and make next.

Thank You, Cary!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by my booth, talked with me, bought a painting or gift, or simply took a few minutes to look through my work. And thank you to everyone who has been following along while I’ve been getting ready for these events.

Seeing so many paintings head off to new homes was a pretty wonderful way to end the day.

Now it’s back to the studio, I apparently have some empty spaces in my inventory to fill!

Thanks for reading!

Amy
