A tribute to pets still by our side, and those who’ve crossed the rainbow bridge.

There’s a unique kind of love that exists between us and our animal companions. It’s unspoken, unconditional, and deeply soulful. Whether your pet is still with you, curled up at your feet, or now lives in memory, that bond never fades. That’s why I offer custom pet portraits, to honor that love, celebrate their spirit, and keep their presence close.
Why a Custom Pet Portrait Is More Than Just a Painting
Each portrait I create is deeply personal. I don’t just paint what your pet looked like, I try to capture their essence. Their sparkle. Their softness. Their playfulness or quiet wisdom. These aren’t just pictures; they’re reflections of the heart.
Some are gifts for birthdays or holidays. Others are created through tears, as a way to grieve, remember, and heal. Both are sacred.
Introducing: Mya’s Rainbow Friends
My inspiration for painting animals who’ve passed came from my own beloved dog, Mya, who crossed the bridge in 2019. Her gentle soul stayed with me long after her body left this world, and painting her became a way to process my grief. She came to me in a dream and I received the image of her with wings behind her back and a rainbow around her. I quickly took to creating a little "logo" that would express that message. The feeling from the dream was that I needed to help others with grieving their loss of their beloved pet.

That’s when Mya’s Rainbow Friends was born, a collection of pet portraits made with love for animals who’ve crossed the rainbow bridge. This offering is my way of honoring their legacy and offering comfort to those left behind.

A Tender Keepsake for Pet Loss and Grieving Hearts
Grief for a pet is real, raw, and often misunderstood. A custom portrait offers something tangible to hold onto, something that says, “They were real. They were loved. And they still are.” Many of my clients have shared that their portrait became a comforting part of their home, and in some cases, the first time they felt peace since the loss.

Each pet memorial portrait is created with care, gentleness, and empathy. I work from your photos, listen to your stories, and pour intention into every brushstroke.

I have had the honor of incorporating the ashes of rainbow friends in some portraits. Here is a time lapse video of one of those paintings...
Pet Portraits for the Living, Too
Of course, you don’t have to wait. I also create custom portraits for pets still here with us, because today is a beautiful time to celebrate their companionship. Whether it’s a mischievous kitten, a loyal old pup, or a fluffy rescue who changed your life, every pet deserves to be seen and honored.
How to Order
Ordering a custom portrait is simple. You can start here. I offer multiple sizes, backgrounds, and even subtle symbolic elements if you'd like to include flowers, halos, or favorite toys.
Turnaround time is about 1-2 weeks, and I keep you updated and share progress if you'd like.
Whether you’re celebrating the life of a furry friend still at your side, or holding space for the memory of one who has passed, a custom pet portrait is a meaningful way to honor that connection. Love like that deserves to be seen, and remembered.
If you'd like to commission a portrait or ask about the process, please reach out. I’m always honored to create these pieces.
With love,
Amy, and Mya, always.
